Tricks to Fix Runtime Errors


Reset Internet Explorer

  1. Run Internet Explorer and click on the Tools menu (Options)

  2. Choose the Internet Options from the menu. A new window will appear.

  3. Click on the Advanced tab.

  4. Click on the Reset button. Another window will open.

  5. Tick marks the box next to the Delete personal settings.

  6. All the saved browsing history, saved passwords, etc. But it is recommended for these troubleshooting steps.

  7. Click on the Reset button. Another window will appear. Click “Close” when finished.




Turn off Error Messages

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools menu

  2. Choose Internet Options from the menu. A new window will appear.

  3. Click on the Advanced tab.

  4. Choose the boxes next to Disable script debuggin (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other)

Re-Install Runtime Libraries

After applying above given tricks if you are still getting runtime errors then you need to uninstalling and re-installing the wrong files for the mistaken runtime.


Read the original error message and find the runtime library in question. For example: we are dealing runtime error in Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime.


Warning: Removing runtime libraries may affect some programs and make them stop working if they are not properly re-installed.

  1. Open run dialogue box by pressing Windows key + R at the same time.

  2. In the Run prompt type: appwiz.cpl

  3. Hit enter.

  4. The Add/Remove program control panel snap-in will open in a new window.

  5. Find all installations relating to the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime and uninstall them.

  6. After it restart your computer between uninstallations. Follow the on-screen instructions in the software uninstallers.

  7. Now, you need to download and re-install the previously uninstalled runtime libraries.
