PS4 NAT type error is a general problem of Play Station. Players while playing sometimes get the PS4 NAT Type Failed error. You are unable to hear the next person during the game. It is due to the improper network connection. In this blog, we will discuss how to fix PS4 NAT type failed errors. Before proceeding to the details about it ensure your network connection is perfect and can access the Internet smoothly. You can use another hardware device like a router, dongle or wifi device.

What are the different types of NAT?

NAT stands for Network Address Translation, it has the ability to translate public to a private IP address. With the help of this mechanism Internet Service Provider’s map translate one public IP to multiple users at the same time.

There are three types of NAT present. They are-

1) Open NAT (Type 1) - In this type total system is connected to the Internet directly without any router or firewall. This method helps to connect PS4 systems easily.

2)Moderate NAT (Type 2) - In this type, the system is connected to a router or firewall. In this method PS4 system also working properly without any network issue.

3)Strict NAT (Type 3) - In Type 3 router is used to connect the system but there is no DMZ set up or opens ports. It might create some network connection problems and some issues during voice chat.

Solutions To Fix PS4 NAT Type Error

Here we have suggested some problems solving solutions for PS4 NAT Type error. They are given below-

FIX 1- Check the Internet connection

The problem of the PS4 NAT type is due to improper networking. Network Firewall also a reason behind the issue. If you change the type of NAT, it can solve the issue. You can try this by router setting. It is an easy and effective solution.

FIX 2- Configure the network settings manually

PS4 NAT Type failed problem causes due to wrong network setting integrated to the console. At first check, the IP address of PS4 and check it is allocated, changed correctly or not. If you don’t know how to check IP address then follow the steps-

· Open the main screen of the Play Station > navigate to Setting.

· Within Setting > Select Network.

· Now tap to View Connection Status. Within this option, the IP address allocated to the PS4 console enlisted.

If your console has no correct setting then will try to set them manually. We need a PC with the same network connection as your PS4. We use this PC to check the Internet connectivity. Now put all your PS4 details on this PC.

· Open the PC and press Windows + R, type cmd and then press Enter.

· When your command prompt executes ipconfig/all, you will get all relevant information regarding the networking of your PC.

· Now choose your correct option, which means the same as that of PS4.

· In the console go to Setting> Network> Set up Internet Connection.

· It will provide choices of Medium of connection. You can select the medium of the Internet connection to the PS4, select and proceed.

· In the next menu choose Custom because we have selected the Manual method. Add the information which will use custom.

· We are not using Proxy Server so; do not select the Proxy Server option.

· After put all the important details, check the Network Connection.

· Here you can the NAT type is 2. If the problem is fixed then use all the modes as usual.
